Strengthening university cooperation in Africa through knowledge sharing.
Connecting African academic institutions to promote the sharing of expertise, innovation and academic excellence.
The World Association for Development (AMD) works to strengthen cooperation among higher education institutions through its Programme to Support Communication in the Higher Education Sector in Africa. Focused on the circulation of knowledge and academic coordination, this initiative promotes the dissemination of good practices and the development of partnerships among universities, higher education institutions and research institutions across the continent.
Convinced that the challenges facing higher education require collective responses, AMD supports structured mechanisms for dialogue and collaboration. These may take the form of conferences, thematic meetings, expert networks, institutional exchanges, specialized publications and digital platforms that enable academics, institutional leaders and sector professionals to share their experiences and solutions.
The programme facilitates access to information on major higher education issues, including the quality of education, university governance, scientific research, educational innovation, the professionalization of curricula, digital transformation and the alignment of skills with the needs of African economies.
AMD also encourages institutions to identify common priorities and develop collaborations in the fields of education, research and innovation. Sharing proven experiences helps promote approaches that can be adapted to other contexts, while taking into account the institutional and territorial realities specific to each country.
The actions undertaken have helped bring higher education stakeholders closer together, improve the circulation of knowledge and increase the visibility of practices developed by African institutions. They foster the emergence of academic collaborations, the sharing of expertise and better coordination around common priorities, while opening up new opportunities for cooperation among institutions.
By strengthening ties among universities, higher education institutions and research centers, this programme contributes to building a more dynamic African academic cooperation space. It supports a university community capable of producing, transmitting and mobilizing knowledge in the service of innovation, excellence and the development of the continent.
Through this initiative, the World Association for Development reaffirms its commitment to quality higher education that is better connected to African realities and open to international partnerships. This dynamic contributes to developing the skills Africa needs, strengthening its scientific potential and increasing the contribution of academic institutions to the sustainable transformation of societies.
