Actions that matter

Promoting the Inclusion and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

Developing skills and autonomy to ensure equitable participation in economic and social life.

The World Association for Development (AMD) works towards an inclusive society in which every person, regardless of their physical or sensory abilities, can access the same opportunities for personal development and fully contribute to economic and social life.

In this context, AMD implements initiatives designed to facilitate access for persons with disabilities to vocational training, skills development and professional learning opportunities that support their economic integration. These initiatives enable beneficiaries to acquire qualifications, develop income-generating activities and build pathways based on autonomy and dignity.

The Association also provides support adapted to identified needs, particularly by facilitating access to equipment and mobility resources. Such assistance supports daily activities, participation in community life and integration into socio-economic dynamics.

In addition to this support, AMD conducts awareness-raising activities to promote respect for rights, combat prejudice and improve the inclusion of persons with disabilities within communities. It mobilizes public institutions, civil society organizations and technical partners around initiatives capable of providing sustainable responses to the barriers encountered.

The support provided enables beneficiaries to better develop their abilities, access useful learning opportunities and gain greater autonomy in their daily and economic activities. It also encourages more active participation in community life and encourages institutional stakeholders to better integrate accessibility and equal opportunities into their interventions.

Through this approach, AMD addresses the economic, material and social barriers that contribute to exclusion. It therefore contributes to reducing the factors that perpetuate poverty and to building communities in which persons with disabilities can fully exercise their rights and participate in development.
